Sewage spill pollutes La Jolla beach
SAN DIEGO — A roughly 5,000-gallon sewage spill prompted a pollution alert Tuesday at La Jolla beaches, authorities reported. Wastewater began overflowing from a blocked sanitation line about 5 a.m. in the 1100 block of Prospect Street that drains southwest down Coast Boulevard, according to the San Diego Public Utilities Department. Boy, 10, charged with fatally beating elderly woman
DAMASCUS TOWNSHIP, Penn. – A 10-year-old Pennsylvania boy has been charged with homicide after police say he confessed to beating a 90-year-old woman to death. According to WNEP, Tristen Kurilla, 10, of Damascus Township was visiting his grandfather last Saturday when Helen Novak, 90, yelled at him during a dispute. SAN DIEGO — A leader in a Mexican drug trafficking gang who participated in six murders, including the strangling of two men in San Ysidro whose bodies were dissolved in acid, was sentenced Tuesday to nine terms of life in prison without parole. SAN DIEGO — A 57-year-old business owner and two other people were in custody Tuesday on suspicion of growing marijuana inside a Mira Mesa warehouse, police said.
